LMGs are the heavy hitters of your arsenal. With large magazines, high damage and great penetration, they can used to cover an area extremely effectively. Consider LMGs to be the inverse of SMGs. While SMGs excel at close-range rapid assault, LMGs excel at locking down an area defensively.
